In the latest European football reports Manchester City has come to an agreement with the Spaniard football club Real Madrid for the Brazilian forward star Robinho for an amount of 32.5 million pounds (58.5 million dollars).

It is no secret the Brazilian football player Robinho has openly stated his desire to leave the Real Madrid and to join a British club for the present season. At the end, it was Manchester City the club that showed the most financial interest in the purchase of the player; especially now that an Arab Emirates United business group owns part of the Man City club.

Real Madrid had declined the offer made by Chelsea in regards to the player and the situation between the clubs was very tense. Then Manchester City arrived almost in time at the very last day where this type of transfers could take place and made the proposal, which was quickly accepted.

“I am absolutely fascinated for having the opportunity to work with a talented player like Robinho, I have said that in order to compete in the Premier League we needed to search for the best players and undoubtedly Robinho is one of the world’s best footballers”, stated Manchester City coach, Mark Hughes.

Last Monday Robinho was reported to be in Brazil playing in the qualifying world championship rounds with his national team, but now the Manchester City has announced a 4-year contract was signed with the player. Other media sources like the Spaniard newspaper Marca also indicated this contract to be for more than three times what Real Madrid had paid to acquire the player.

The future game alliance between Manchester City Robinho and the Brazilian player Jo who also plays for the Man City is already the most talked about news in the Premier League as it is very clear the Man City is ready to win the tournament, which they have not been able to grasp for the past thirty-two years.

The other club interested in Robinho was Chelsea but when they made their offer Real Madrid refused to accept, the offer was approximately 32 million Euros. Many believe that perhaps the press conference where Robinho openly indicated in the presence of most Real Madrid directors; Ramón Cauldron, Predrag Mijatovic and Coach Bernd Schuster his desire to move to Chelsea had triggered the Spaniards’ negative reaction.

Even Chelsea’s Coach the Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scolari had previously spoken to Robinho and had made him an offer to increase his salary to 2.1 million Euros on a yearly basis. Nevertheless, it was Chelsea’s Premier League rival Man City the one to take the advantage in the acquisition with the support of the owner – the multimillionaire Roman Abramovich. Robinho’s talent is now in the Premier League, which is one of the strongest in Europe. We expect to see the Brazilian player scoring for his team as his future continues to unfold with new experiences.
